Sony Alpha 1 Wins ‘Camera of the Year’ At 2021 EISA Awards

The Digital Imaging Awards (DIA) are given annually at the International Photography Hall of Fame (IPHOF) at the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film in Rochester, New York USA.

The Sony Alpha 1 won Camera of the Year at the 2021 European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Awards, which were held at the Nürnberg exhibition center on the 25th of April, where over 10,000 professionals attended to celebrate pioneering innovation.

The Sony Alpha 1 in black, is in my opinion one of the best cameras in the world.  The 21.5MP Exmor sensor is top notch, the autofocus is responsive, the super slow motion video is stunning, and it has a viewfinder that is second to none.  If you are in the market for a full size DSLR you can’t go wrong with the Alpha 1.

The 2021 Expert Imaging and Sound Association Honors have recently revealed that Sony has received a total of seven awards (2021 EISA Awards).

Sony received the following prizes at the EISA Awards in 2021:

The FE 50mm F1.2 GM is compact and lightweight, with a brilliant F1.2 aperture. Its 11-blade circular diaphragm and newly designed XA (extreme aspherical) lens components create exquisite bokeh.

Autofocus and tracking are fast and accurate thanks to the four XD Linear Motors (extreme dynamic). The FE 50mm F1.2 GM also has an aperture ring that can be switched between clicked and clickless operation, making it ideal for both still and moving images.

FE 14mm F1.8 GM EISA Wideangle Lens

This rectilinear 14mm F/1.8 lens combines Sony’s latest optical design advancements and manufacturing methods into a rectilinear 14mm F/1.8 lens that is as at home in the field as it is in the studio.

Sony’s FE 14mm F1.8 GM works well for landscapes, nightscapes, architecture, and videography despite its tiny size and weight.

The 9-blade aperture and XA lens components contribute to beautiful bokeh, while the XD Linear Motors guarantee fast and precise autofocus.

The engineers behind the Alpha series cameras cooperated on the Xperia 1 III, which has Real-time Eye AF and quick, precise continuous AF across all lenses.

The Xperia 1 III also has a Dual-PD Sensor and a 4K HDR OLED 120Hz Refresh rate display, as well as the world’s first Variable telephoto lens.

The Xperia 1 III’s Real-time Tracking feature enables users to record the most challenging moving objects in perfect focus.

Thanks to AI-based algorithms and the 3D iToF sensor for detecting distance, Real-time Tracking can consistently identify and concentrate on a target and continue to watch it even if it momentarily goes out of sight.

The image is completed by the world’s first smartphone with a Variable telephoto lens and a Dual PD sensor that goes up to a 105mm focal length – with fast focusing thanks to the Dual PD sensor.

When moving between 70mm and 105mm, the focus changes instantly, enabling you to capture the beauty in the details fast. The Xperia 1 III now has focal lengths of 16mm and 24mm, allowing for more creative freedom in photography.

Full-stage stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone port, 360 Reality Audio, and new and enhanced Game Enhancer capabilities are all included in the Xperia 1 III.
